Colonial Kids

The girls and friends Chelsi and Caleb attended a special day camp at Carter Mansion. This camp was from 9:00-5:00 and included such wonderful character building tasks such as; bean picking, corn shucking, food preparation. The kids got to harvest their food from the garden, prepare and eat it. They had a snack of parched corn and watermelon. Cam and Caleb volunteered to dress up in the tradional colonial attire (even though it was a bit large for them). They both looked adorable - sorry Caleb but you did!

Cam and Chelsi were dirty as little ragamuffins when the day was over but Cake managed to stay clean but boy were they tired!! I thought it was a great experience for much better than the history books we use!!
